Employment Benefits and Support Measures (EBSMs)December 2007:Ontario Employment Assistance Services (OEAS)Employment Ontario Network Development Fund (EONDF)Employment Ontario Network Development Fund (EONDF) supports the development and capacity of the Employment Ontario third party service delivery network. Employment Service (ES)Employment Service offers a range of resources, supports and service components to respond to the career and employment needs of individuals and the skilled labour needs of employers, and can help individuals on a path to higher skill training and employment. The five components of the Employment Service provide a highly flexible tool kit of services that can be customized to a client’s particular needs. Job Connect (JC)Job Connect can help people prepare for and find a job. Job Connect also works with employers to help them find and hire the qualified people they need. Job Creation Partnerships (JCP)Ontario Job Creation Partnerships is an employment program that provides work experience to unemployed job seekers within projects that benefit the community or local economy. Pre-Apprenticeship Training ProgramThe Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program helps potential entrants to the apprenticeship system develop their job skills and trade readiness so that they will be prepared to find work as apprentices. Summer Jobs Service (SJS)Free job-search and self-marketing support is available through Employment Ontario Summer Jobs Services agencies to help students find summer jobs. A $2-per-hour-per-student hiring incentive is available for eligible Ontario employers to create summer job placements. Targeted Initiative for Older Workers (TIOW)The TIOW is a federal-provincial cost-shared program targeting unemployed workers aged 55 to 64 living in communities of less than 250,000 people that have high unemployment or a high reliance on single industries. |
