Ontario Human Capital Research and Innovation Fund (OHCRIF)

The objective of the Ontario Human Capital Research and Innovation Fund (OHCRIF) is to support research and innovation projects that identify better ways to help people prepare for, return to or keep employment and become productive participants in the labour force.

Call for Proposals 2017-2018

The purpose of the 2017-2018 Call for Proposals is to fund research and review projects that improve knowledge in the areas of postsecondary education, labour market, and employment and training policy. OHCRIF will fund research and innovation projects that align with the priorities of the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU).

MAESD will accept proposals related to:

  • Skills and return on investment
  • Postsecondary education (PSE) and training policies
  • Labour market programs, policy and service delivery

Closing Date: August 11, 2017

Policy Research Symposium


The second annual Policy Research Symposium brought together researchers funded through the Ontario Human Capital Research and Innovation Fund and other government-sponsored initiatives, with policy-makers, academics and leading experts.  Presenters for 2015 showcased research in a range of themes such as teaching quality, access to postsecondary education by vulnerable groups, experiential learning and transitions to the labour market.
