The objective of the Ontario Human Capital Research and Innovation Fund (OHCRIF) is to support research and innovation projects that identify better ways to help people prepare for, return to or keep employment and become productive participants in the labour force.

Ontario Graduate Policy Research Challenge 2014

The Ontario Graduate Policy Research Challenge is designed to reward high-quality graduate student research that is relevant to postsecondary education, training and labour market policies in Ontario. The Challenge is open to graduate students and recent graduates from graduate programs at publicly assisted Ontario universities or post-graduate certificate programs at Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT).

The top 25 applicants will receive awards worth $3,000, $2,000 or $1,000. Finalists will make a presentation on their brief at an event organized by Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU). Applicants selected by a jury panel will share their findings with the MTCU Deputy Minister and Assistant Deputy Ministers.

Open Call for Proposals 2013-2014

The purpose of the 2013-14 Call for Proposals is to obtain evidence to support current policy and program development in the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) in the areas of postsecondary education, labour market, and employment and training policy.

The themes of the 2013-14 OHCRIF Call for Proposals are the following:

  • Preparing for and Participating in the Labour Market
  • Increasing Participation in Postsecondary Education and Training
  • Outcomes and Returns to Postsecondary Education and Training
