Ontario Skills Training Enhancement Program (OSTEP) Guidelines and Proposal Application 2008-09

The Ontario Skills Training Enhancement Program (OSTEP) supports the government's Skills to Jobs Action Plan as announced in the 2008 Budget. OSTEP responds to a growing need for updated, expanded and new facilities and updated, replacement or new equipment, to meet the skills training and apprenticeship needs of the economy.

With the anticipated strong growth in skilled trades, apprenticeship demand and postsecondary enrolment, and in support of long-term prosperity, there is a need for significant capital expansion for union-employer training centres.

Increased government investment in collaborative capital projects and equipment upgrades ensures Ontario has the infrastructure required to meet the skills training and apprenticeship needs of both individuals and industry to grow the province's economy.

Interested proponents are invited to submit proposals for funding.
