These particulars are posted following the issuance of a Restraining Order against an unregistered private post-secondary institution by the Superintendent of Private Career Colleges pursuant to s. 46 (1) of the Act.

Contraventions

The Superintendent has ordered Indo Canadian Academy Inc. to do the following:

  • Stop offering or providing vocational programs for a fee unless the person is registered and the provision of the vocational program has been approved by the Superintendent contrary to section 8 (1) of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005;
  • Stop charging and collecting fees in relation to vocational programs that are not approved by the Superintendent contrary to section 9 (1) of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005;
  • Stop advertising the provision of vocational programs unless the institution is registered and the provision of the vocational programs have been approved by the Superintendent contrary to section 11 (2) of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.

Required Actions

By June 30, 2017, Indo Canadian Academy Inc. was required by the Superintendent to provide written confirmation signed by a person with authority to bind the corporation, together with all available supporting evidence, confirming that they:

  • Have stopped offering or providing vocational programs for a fee unless the person is registered and the provision of the vocational program has been approved by the Superintendent contrary to section 8 (1) of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005;
  • Have stopped charging and collecting fees in relation to vocational programs that are not approved by the Superintendent contrary to section 9 (1) of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005;
  • Have stopped advertising the provision of vocational programs unless the institution is registered and the provision of the vocational programs have been approved by the Superintendent contrary to section 11(2) of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
