Private Career Colleges Act, 2005, s. 9 (1) Prohibition against charging fee:

On December 9, 2020, the Superintendent found that 1000ml Inc. (“1000ml”) had offered an employment to a person who had previously attended an unapproved vocational program offered and provided by 1000ml. The employment contract included terms that would affect repayment of fees in relation to the unapproved vocational program contrary to s. 9 (1) of the Act.

Description

Private Career Colleges Act 2005

On May 12, 2020, the Superintendent issued an order pursuant to s. 46 (1) of the Act to 1000ml. The order restrained 1000ml from charging or collecting fees in relation to an unapproved vocational program. The Superintendent found 1000ml to have offered an employment contract to a former student that would collect fees in relation to the previously offered unapproved vocational program contrary to s. 9 (1) of the Act and thereby failing to comply with the Restraining Order.
