These particulars are posted following the issuance of a Compliance Order against a registered private career college by the Superintendent of Private Career Colleges pursuant to subsection 49 (2) of the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005 (the “Act”).

Contraventions

The Superintendent of Private Career Colleges ordered Smart Truck Training Academy Ltd. to stop contravening the following provisions of the Act:

Subsection 8 (1)
Prohibition against providing vocational programs
8 (1) No person shall offer or provide a vocational program for a fee unless the person is
registered and the provision of the vocational program has been approved by the Superintendent.

Subsection 11 (2)
Restrictions on advertising and soliciting
11 (2) Subject to the regulations, no person shall advertise the provision of a vocational program at a private career college unless the person is registered and the provision of the vocational program has been approved by the Superintendent.

Subsection 14 (3)
Several locations
14 (3) If an applicant intends to provide a vocational program at more than one location, the Superintendent may register the applicant to operate one private career college at the several locations.

Required Actions

Smart Truck Training Academy Ltd. was required by the Superintendent of Private Career Colleges to provide written confirmation signed by a person with authority to bind the corporation, together with all available supporting evidence, confirming that they:

A. Had stopped advertising the provision of unapproved AZ Tractor-Trailer (MELT) programs at all campus locations that had not been approved by the Superintendent of Private Career Colleges.

B. Had stopped offering and providing unapproved AZ Tractor-Trailer (MELT) programs at all campus locations that had not been approved by the Superintendent of Private Career Colleges.

As of the date of this posting, Smart Truck Training Academy Ltd. responded and advised of their compliance with the Act.
